We have our first film première’s from last years season coming up on Saturday 20th April in the evening - keep the date in your diary - details to follow.
But the end of the last film making season means the start of the new - and boy do we have a bumper crop for you.
We spent all last night plotting our production schedule. Each of these productions will be standing up teams with directors, camera operators, sound, lighting, etc, etc - and doing shout outs for actors, extras, props and locations. You can help us in that by sharing this newsletter with your friends and colleagues.
There is always a need on film productions for humpers and gophers and runners, so don’t worry if you have never been involved in film making before we can find something for you to do.
Thursday night is film making at the club - so pop down to 23a Fettes Row at 7-for-7:30 and introduce yourself. You don’t have to be a member (but if you come back often enough the nag-polis will be set on ya to join, in the nicest possible way).
But we don’t just want to see you at film making - we have film study nights on a Friday. They are members-only - but also try-before-you-buy - so come along.
They are fairly informal, a club member introduces the film, explains why it is important, innovative and worthy of our consideration. We watch it and then retire to the club room for tea and biscuits to talk about what we have just seen. Its a great way to get a better and wider appreciation of the rich legacy of cinema from around the world.
